Why are Out of District teams charged more than Southwest District teams?

This competition is funded by the 15 chapters of the Southwest District of APICS. Therefore, prize money is donated primarily by the chapters of the Southwest District. Meals for students are covered by the Southwest District Manager's budget.

To help defray the costs of the event for schools outside of the Southwest District (prize money and meals), we need to charge additional funds from teams that are outside the Southwest District. We hope that this will also encourage other districts to hold their own competitions, but all teams from other districts are welcome to participate in the Southwest District Case Competition.
